Started singing in high school, then college. Joined the Marsh Island Trio, taught & coached at East Corinth Academy (1 yr.). Went on the road, I was part of the folk scene in Greenwich Village, NY in the late 60's, had a decent following and eventually went on tour as opening act for several bands in the early 70's.(Canned Heat, Steppin Wolf, Judy Collins, B.B. King, Three Dog Night, Iron Butterfly,Ian & Sylvia among others and eventually ended up in Denver & hooked-up with Erik Holbrook Reynolds ( incredible guitarist & talent/ friend). We sang at the early days of Larimer Square and the local/regional clubs and ski areas in the state, eventually went to a trio - "Under Milkwood" and then a band "Stonewall"then gave it up to go into the construction/corporate world,(why ??? ), settled back in Rhode Island. Retired to Colorado (Wet Mountains). Started playing again; in the process of reviving my career and loving it ! Amazing how it comes back to you !! I opened at The Canon Rose Acoustic Society this past Saturday (12-13-08 ),in Canon City, CO.. well received, encore & all..Great to be on stage again after all these years.
Well, it's been a while since I sent out anything new...Life is good here in the high country. March came in as the "proverbial" lion. Temps in the 60's & 70's, got some gigs lined-up for summer.. been recording like crazy, working on some new material... "Summertime", Ghost Riders In The Sky, Devoted To You ( Everly Bros. ), Lea's Song ( Jim & Leanne Mckenny - Miss Jim a lot.. God bless you man), That Little ol' Shack Out Back So Dear To Me, Rose and A Baby Ruth ( G. Hamilton IV), yadda, yadda, yadda. & some "Bert & I" stuff. I need to drop some pounds this spring... "don't like the way my jeans fit". But. I gotta tell ya.. Sharon sure does spoil me. Her cooking is beyond anything you can imagine. It's a gift........ and I pay the price. ( I'll deal with it on an other level ).. Hope all is well with all of you. R. Harrison Emery
